Bass usually won’t vacate spawning grounds if there are cover and warmer water nearby. The warmest water is found in sun-exposed, calm areas with the presence of cover. When he finds the warmest water, Walters “plunks” key targets like grass mats and wood with a Tokyo Rig. As he explains, the rig is a harness for your favorite plastics, allowing the bait full freedom of movement and the ability to up- or downsize on the fly.
